KEY to FAT Loss - Part 1 of 20

Actively trying to lose body fat can generally 'push up' the pressure of 'being good' and making 'healthier choices'. Reports are showing that as soon as we set hard and fast rules to our eating regime... our cravings go up by 8%! This not only causes frustration early on to the owner of the urges but can create big obstacles at the beginning of the process. If you keep your blood sugar levels at a constant level throughout the day, you will not only begin to reduce the amount of cravings you have but eliminate them altogether. By not eating for a couple of hours, the body begins to crave food. More often than not the food the body 'craves' is all the wrong foods. These wrong choices begin a damaging cycle of blood sugar spiking, lowering and cravings. As blood sugar levels rise out of their 'safe' zone, the pancreas releases insulin to bring the blood sugar levels down, leaving the body craving for wrong foods all over again. SUCCESS KEY 1

Can I change the amount of FAT cells I have?

Yes is the answer! The belief is that when we are born we are set with a number, in the billions, of fat cells and that our lifestyle will influence the size of them.

FACT is, there are 4 stages in our lives when we can strongly increase or decrease the QUANTITY of FAT cells in our bodies;

1. As a baby in the third trimester
2. Throughout the age of 2 years old
3. During pregnancy (mother)
4. Throughout adolescents

So hypertherically; if I was born with 10 billion fat cells, my lifestyle will influence the size of the fat cells and only the above can influence the quantity I have.

As a mum this information is vital for you to be able protect your children from the rising concerns of degenerative diseases.

How do I work out my BMI? (Body Mass Index)

BMI In 3 Easy Steps… 1. Work out your height in metres and multiply the figure by itself 2. Measure your weight in kilograms 3. Divide the weight by the height squared I.e. Client ‘A’ - 1.54m in height and weight 60kg Therefore: 1.54 x 1.54 = 2.37 then divide this sum into the weight i.e. 60/2.37 = BMI is 25.31 Healthy Range of BMI is 20-25 BMI alone is not a good guide to who is at most risk of obesity and cardiovascular disease, Metabolic Syndrome, Diabetes and related cancers. Use Waist Measurement as a good guide A waist circumference greater than 80cm (32in) for women and 94cm (37in) for men indicates increased risk. Australia’s Government are leading many health campaigns using this measurement as an excellent guide to improving health.

Poole Park Fitness Trail

After initiating an idea and proposing it initially to Friends of Poole Park and then continuing the meetings with Poole Borough Council and over 4 and a half years of research, meetings, planning and perserverence by Green Gym Company... its eventually installed! The first Outdoor Gym in Poole! The Outdoor Gym 'Green Gym' is extremely successful, with members of the public 'giving it a go' to continued participants scheduling it into their daily routine. The feedback we have had from the members of the public has been deeply satisfying and a great sense of acheivement. A question that has arised most recently from a 'user' of the 'Green Gym'; Q.'What is the purpose of the rotating wheels? Do they need to have some resistance?' A. 'During the third phase of design, 3 years ago, myself and Poole Leisure Services had many meetings with suppliers of Outdoor Fitness Equipment and discussed to much depth what was our focus with the outdoor equipment and secondly ‘who’ did we want utilising the equipment. The outcome was ‘everyone and anyone of all ages and all Fitness Levels’. Therefore the ‘rotating wheels’ were implemented as a necessary and vital part of the ‘mobility’ section of the outdoor gym. As you have probably found by using the outdoor gym, there are certain ‘gains’ with certain pieces of equipment i.e. Muscular Strength & Conditioning, Cardiovascular (Heart and Lungs), Flexibility and Joint Mobility. The rotating wheels are necessary to ensure full range and mobility through the shoulder joint. To be used by the older generation to ensure reduced risk of ‘frozen shoulders’ and neck stiffness and to be used by all others as a great way to loosen off tight muscles after an outdoor gym training session, a long drive/run or a day in the office. Adding resistance to this piece of equipment would defer from the initial purpose of the wheels'. If you have any feedback or any questions, please contact us!
